This week’s episode of Community brings a bit of healthy competition to the show, where Annie and her trusty study group compete against Annie Kim in a battle of Model United Nations. Annie Kim is Annie’s new “friend” from her Political Science class who steals Annie’s ideal of creating a Model UN club. Professor Cligoris decides the only way to settle the issue is to have a “head-to-head battle royale”. Jeff, Abed, Troy, Pierce, and Shirley join Annie in her Model UN Red Team. Annie channels every emotion I have regarding any competitive activity on one swoop here.

During this time, Change settles in with his new job as Greendale Campus Security Officer, while Britta deals with her inner battle of student versus protestor. After learning that her friend has been tear-gassed and taken hostage in a foreign country, Britta starts rebelling at Greendale just to feel like she’s still part of the action. This plays out as sort of a pseudo-romance scene between Chang and Britta whenever they meet at altercations (it doesn’t help that “Hello” by Lionel Richie is playing in the background of every incident between the two).

One thing I did find annoying is that Abed didn’t have a forefront comedic role in this episode. I always look forward to what he’s going to do every episode. Not that he didn’t have a funny moment this episode, I just prefer the days of the pithy quotes and sarcasm.

Being an avid Tumblr fanatic, I actually found that one of the site’s featured blogs is a Community-based blog. Here you can find related blogs, soundtracks, DVD commentary, interviews, and so on (of course with hilarious gifs as you scroll through countless pages). From the frequently asked questions section, I learned a little bit more about who runs the blog. Louara Zemog, a viewer all the way in Brazil, made this blog some time after watching the first episode. Creator Dan Harmon has reached out to her via Twitter to thank her for her dedication to the series.
