Spark'd TV: Sunny Days

I’ll have to admit, when I have shows that I’m completely obsessed with, I have a hard time finding the right words to express how unbelievably awesome they actually are. I find myself in this exact situation this week, as we discuss (or mainly while I discuss) It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. So far, this season has provided pageant children, an homage to Jersey Shore, and Frank’s club-owning days, leaving the audience in tears of laughter the whole way through.

If you’re not familiar with the show, you should probably start watching it. Like right now.

The show follows Charlie, Dee, Dennis, Mac, and Frank, who own and work at an Irish pub in Philadelphia. However, their clouted judgment and complete lack of common sense lead them to do stupid, irresponsible, and hilarious things.

The latest episode follows the five as they prepare for what they thought would be the “storm of the century”. Charlie, Dennis, and Mac hurry to a convenience store in order to gather supplies, and stalk the news reporter they had seen. Her graciously endowed bosom bewitches the guys and therefore, they turn the storm into an opportunity to bring girls down to their bunker.

Meanwhile, Dee and Frank are back at the bar, and the power goes out. Dee, her usual neurotic self, basically has a panic attack as she fumbles around the pub. Frank, the idiot that he is, brings a gun and accidentally shoots Cricket, a friendly homeless man. Dee and Frank meet up with the rest of the group at the convenience store where they learn that the storm will be only a light drizzle.

With such a stellar cast, who’s your favorite It’s Always Sunny character? For me, the clear winner is Charlie Day. He always has the best one-liners, and storylines. If you’re like me and can’t get enough of Charlie Day, you’ll be pleased to hear that he is hosting Saturday Night Live on Nov. 5 with musical guest Maroon 5.
