It’s finally that time of year again -- let the concert studded madness begin. With Coachella’s line-up having already been announced (and its tickets already a tragic memory), shows are popping up on every concert venue in the Valley’s radar. Artists are beginning to plot their arduous journeys across the desert and into that mystical Indio, Calif., golf course of dreams… or something less dramatic. The season of concerts and large amounts of ticket-buying has finally commenced.

This month alone is poised to see such colorfully diverse acts as the cheerfully childish They Might Be Giants to powerhouse progressive DJs such as Calvin Harris and Steve Aoki. We even were privy to a Decentralized Dance Party.  The whole musical spectrum will be showcased in Arizona, and I know you rabid music lovers are more than willing to accept it. Not to say fall didn’t have countless shows of note and merit (Airborne Toxic Event and Kooks, anyone?), but the spring holds such treasures as Childish Gambino, Neon Indian, Radiohead…the list goes on and on. And that’s only touching on the national acts. Arizona has a treasure trove of local acts that routinely define and redefine musical progression. And they are out there playing every week, putting it all out there at the many venues that the Valley is lucky enough to have access to.

So get out there. The music scene is thriving at both the national and local levels. Best of all, it’s happening right in front of us. We have no choice but to take advantage of it. I’ll get off my soapbox for now, but here’s where to find some excellent lists of national and local acts that are primed to hit the Valley:
