The Top St. Patrick's Day Spots

It’s your lucky day. On Friday, Arizona will provide a variety of different events for everyone to channel their inner Irishman.

For the over-21 crowd:

School of Rock, Mill Avenue

From 6 p.m. until 2 a.m., you can enjoy the emcees from 101.5 JAMZ radio station. School of Rock will also host a special performance from Asher Roth. Their drink specials will include $5 Jameson shots and $3 Guinness Draft Beer.

Tilted Kilt, Downtown Phoenix

For those who traverse the light rail, Downtown Phoenix shouldn’t be ruled out as a hub for St. Patty’s Day festivities. From 8 a.m. until 2 a.m., Tilted Kilt will shut down Central Avenue for a street party, which will include live music, DJs, food and beer. All proceeds from the event will go to the United Phoenix Firefighters Community Charities. Don’t miss out on their famous green beer.

D’Arcy McGee’s, Tempe Marketplace

Partnered with San Felipe’s Cantina and Cadillac Ranch, D’Arcy McGee’s will provide live music on an extended patio throughout Tempe Marketplace. They’ll also have Irish dancers and drink specials all night.

Flogging Molly, Tempe Beach Park

Coming off their latest album “Speed of Darkness,” Flogging Molly returns to Tempe Beach Park for another raucous day of Irish festivities. This annual event starts at 11 a.m. and costs $35. You can buy tickets at luckymanonline.com.

Irish Republic St. Patrick’s Day Festival, Chandler

From 12 p.m. until 2 a.m., you can enjoy the authentic atmosphere of Ireland, featuring traditional Irish food, cabbage bowling, and most importantly, beer. There will be bagpipers, dancers and live music all day and night. A portion of the proceeds of this event goes to the Chandler Fire Department Pipes and Drums. Chompie’s, University Drive, Tempe

This annual St. Patrick’s Day tradition features all-day, all-you-can-eat, hand-carved corned beef, along with boiled potatoes, cabbage and Irish soda bread for $18.95 per person. If you just want to try some of the famous corned beef, the single serving is available for $14.49.

Kiss Me, I’m Irish Run, Glendale

Not looking for a wild night? For those seekingan active way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, you can register for a four, eight or 12K run in Glendale. This fun-run consists of Irish music, food sponsored by McFadden’s Irish Pub and a contest for best St. Paddy’s-themed outfit. All proceeds will go to support prostate cancer. No, it’s not local, but I’d be remised if I didn’t give my personal favorite way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a shout-out.
