Tempe police reported the following incidents Friday:

A 23-year-old Tempe man was arrested April 30 on the 1500 block of East Southern Avenue on suspicion of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.

Officers stopped the man because they observed him riding his bicycle without lights on a public highway, police reported.

The man consented to a search, at which point police found a clear plastic baggie of marijuana in his jean pocket, according to the report.

He said he had bought the marijuana a few weeks prior and planned to smoke it, police reported.

Police transported the man to the Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released.

A 36-year-old Tempe man was arrested May 1 at the 200 block of East Southern Avenue on suspicion of aggravated assault and trespassing, according to a police report.

Two days prior to his arrest, two women reported that the transient man had pointed a 4-inch folding knife at them and demanded they return a bicycle, according to the report.

The women told police that the man then slashed the knife at them and that they were worried for their safety, police reported.

Police were unable to locate the man at that time, according to the report.

On May 1, officers found the man sleeping in the back patio of another woman's apartment, police reported.

He was transported to the Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge.
