Tempe police reported the following incidents Thursday:
- A 19-year-old Scottsdale man was arrested near the 600 block of South Mill Avenue on Aug. 16 on suspicion of false reporting to law enforcement, attempting to enter a bar as a minor with a fraudulent identification and possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana according to a police report.
The bar’s bouncer called police after the man handed him an ID that did not appear to be his, police said.
When officers arrived, the man told them the ID was his but was unable to answer simple details such as the address and date of birth, according to the report.
Officers arrested him, and a search revealed he had rolling papers and a marijuana cigarette in his front right pocket, police said.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released pending charges, according to the report.
- A 20-year-old man was arrested Aug. 19 near South McAllister Avenue and East University Drive on suspicion of marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia possession and having an outstanding warrant, according to a police report.
Officers pulled over the vehicle the man was driving after seeing four people piled in the backseat with no seat belts on, police reported.
When the officers approached the car they could smell marijuana, according to the report.
The officers realized the man had an outstanding warrant from ASU Police and asked him to exit the vehicle, police reported.
The man said he had marijuana in his pocket, and a K-9 unit found a pipe wedged between the front passenger seat and the center console of the vehicle, according to the report.
The man was arrested and transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released pending the marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession charges and held pending the outstanding warrant charge, police reported.
