Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:
- A 23-year-old Chandler man was arrested Aug. 31 at the 5000 block of South Arizona Mills Mall Circle on suspicion of sexual abuse and disorderly conduct, according to a police report.
Police arrived at the Rainforest Cafe in the Arizona Mills Mall after reports that there was an intoxicated man causing disruptions at the restaurant, the report said.
A security guard told police that the man was disrupting the flow of business by swearing loudly, acting aggressively and yelling, according to police.
Police reported that the man was asked to leave the restaurant and tried to grab a small child while attempting to leave.
The report also said the man had groped a teenager who was near the aquarium at the front of the business.
The man was taken to Tempe City Jail and held on both charges, the report said.
- A 39-year-old Phoenix woman was arrested Sept. 1 at South River Drive and East Apache Boulevard on suspicion of narcotic, dangerous drug, drug paraphernalia possession and contraband possession by a prisoner, according to a police report.
During a traffic stop, an officer asked if he could search the vehicle in which the woman was a passenger, the report said.
While searching the car, the officer reported finding a makeup bag that contained several syringes and a spoon with dark residue, as well as a tobacco case with plastic wrap containing heroin, a bag containing cocaine and 2 ½ prescription pills.
The report said the woman told police that she and the driver had injected heroin earlier that evening and that she had given the driver money to buy heroin.
She also told police the cocaine was not hers and that she used the pills to help her sleep, but did not have a prescription, according to the report.
Police took her to Tempe City Jail and performed a strip search, where they found more heroin between her buttocks, according to police.
She was booked and released pending charges, the report said.
