Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:
- A 36-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Sept. 22 on the 1600 block of North Scottsdale Road on suspicion of dangerous drug, narcotic and prescription pill possession and two counts of drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.The man was sitting in his car in the parking lot of Quality Inn with his girlfriend when police became suspicious of the couple, police reported.
Officers said when they contacted the man, he acted nervous and moved around a lot, police said.
The man consented to a search of his car and a K-9 unit was called in to assist in the search, according to the report.
Officers found trazodone, a meth pipe, two scales with white residue, a water bong, a marijuana pipe, a straw with white residue and a bag of meth in the car, police reported.
Police found another scale in the trunk of the car, according to the report.
The man told police these items were not his, but they belonged to his girlfriend’s sister, police reported.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released pending charges, police said.
The girlfriend, a 21-year-old from Tempe, was on probation for dangerous drug possession, according to police.
When police searched the woman, they found a bag of meth in her bra, police reported.
She was arrested on suspicion of possessing contraband as a prisoner, dangerous drug possession and two counts of drug paraphernalia possession, according to the report.
The woman was transported to Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and released pending charges, police reported.
- A 22-year-old New Mexico man was arrested Sept. 22 on the 1700 block of East Southern Avenue on suspicion of possession of weapons, narcotic drug possession, prohibited weapon possession, aggravated DUI and two counts of outstanding warrants, according to a police report.Someone called police to tell them the man was passed out at the wheel with beer cans in his car, police reported.
Police reported the man had bloodshot eyes, bad balance and smelled like alcohol.
The man submitted to an Intoxilyzer test, which read his blood alcohol content at 0.155, police said.
The man also had a weapon on his person and outstanding warrants from New Mexico, according to the report.
Police found a bag of cocaine in the man's front pants' fifth pocket, which he said he bought for less than $20, police reported.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail and booked.
