Police: Woman hides meth in bra, convulses on the way to jail


Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • A 37-year-old Mesa woman was arrested Sept. 21 in the 1500 block of South Mill Avenue on suspicion of dangerous drug and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.

    The woman agreed to talk to officers when they contacted her, police reported.

    Police found the woman had an outstanding warrant from Mesa when they ran her information in their system, according to the report.

    They searched the woman and found a syringe in a bag of tobacco, police said.

    The woman told police she used the syringe to inject things she gets from the street, according to the report.

    Police also found a bag of meth in the woman’s bra, police reported.

    While the woman was being transported to Tempe City Jail she began convulsing and seizing, police said.

    She was taken to Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment, according to the report.

    After receiving treatment, she was transported to Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and held on the outstanding Mesa warrant, police reported.

  • A 30-year-old Tempe man was arrested Sept. 22 on the 1900 block of East Wildermuth Avenue on suspicion of criminal damage, trespassing, resisting arrest, narcotic drug possession and marijuana possession, according to a police report.

    Police saw a group of people using spray paint to graffiti a block wall, police reported.

    When the police approached the group, the man and two others ran away, according to the report.

    The men jumped a wall and hid in a retention area, police said.

    The man then fled again and jumped a wall into an apartment complex where he didn't live, police reported.

    When the police located the man, he told them he had only been videotaping his friends spray-painting the wall, according to the report.

    Police found marijuana and cocaine in his pants’ pocket, police reported

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.
