Tempe Police reported the following incidents Monday:
- A 35-year-old Mesa man was arrested Sept. 6 at the intersection of Scottsdale and McKellips roads on suspicion of marijuana, dangerous drug, narcotic drug and drug paraphernalia possession and driving with a suspended license, according to a police report.The man was driving on Scottsdale Road when he nearly struck a curb, and he began swerving erratically across several lanes of traffic, police reported.
When officers pulled the man over, he immediately told officers he did not have a valid driver's license, according to the report.
Officers found a metal pill container filled with meth when they searched the man, police reported.
He was then transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was strip searched, according to the report.
During the search, officers found that the man was concealing something under his tongue, which he swallowed and refused to tell officers what it was, police reported.
Officers also found bags of marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamines hidden in his buttocks, according to the report. They also found several more bags of cocaine after further searching, police reported.
The man was booked and held to see a judge, according to the police report.
- A 34-year-old Sacaton man was arrested Sept. 7 at the intersection of Mill Avenue and Fifth Street on suspicion of obstructing a highway and for having an outstanding warrant, according to a police report.The man tried to cross Mill Avenue without a crossing signal, which caused several cars to swerve and nearly hit the man, police reported.
The officer who spoke to the man said he had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and smelled like alcohol, according to the report.
The man was also falling over and had difficulty maintaining balance while talking to the officer, police reported.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.
