Tempe Police reported the following incident Monday:
A 21-year-old Goodyear man was arrested Nov. 1 behind the Jack-in-the-Box on Mill Avenue on suspicion of trespassing, disorderly conduct, threatening people and marijuana possession, according to a police report.
The man was observed fighting with several people behind the Jack-in-the-Box, according to the report.
The man was told to leave by mounted police officers approximately 10-15 times, but the man refused and stood with both middle fingers up yelling, "F--- you, you f---ing cop. Get down here, I’ll beat your ass,” police reported.
The man was asked to leave several more times but refused, but was later ordered to get on the ground, according to the report.
During a search, a small baggie with a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana was found in the man’s front pocket, police reported.
The man was tased, handcuffed and transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released pending charges, according to the report.
A 47-year-old Mesa man was arrested Nov. 2 at a Wal-Mart on the 1300 block of West Elliot Road on suspicion of shoplifting and drug possession, according to a police report.
The man entered the Wal-Mart, selected items from where they were displayed on sale, concealed the items and attempted to leave without paying for them, police said.
The man was contacted by Wal-Mart security and held until police arrived, according to the report.
During a search, police found a small baggie containing a small quantity of a crystal substance in the man’s right pocket, police said.
The man said the crystal substance was methamphetamine and that he smokes it with a pipe, police reported.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge.
