Tempe Police: Officers looking for man's shoes find marijuana instead

Tempe Police reported the following incidents Monday:

A 66-year-old Tempe man was arrested Nov. 7 on the 30 block of East El Parque Drive on suspicion of having an outstanding warrant and marijuana possession, according to a police report.

Police originally came to the man’s house after they received a call about an unwanted guest, police reported.

Officers also found that the man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest before arriving at the residence, according to the report.

The man answered the door without shoes before transporting the man to jail, but he gave the officer permission to grab his shoes and his wallet from inside the house, police reported.

The man explained where he shoes and wallet were to the officer, but the officer noticed a bag containing marijuana in plain view, according to the report.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.

A 26-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Nov. 11 on the 700 block of West Washington Street on suspicion of criminal trespassing, according to a police report.

The man was seen on closed circuit television walking on the light rail bridge from Mill Avenue and Third Street, police reported.

The bridge has four large signs that tell pedestrians not to enter or walk on the bridge at the risk of felony arrest, according to the report.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.
