Tempe Undergraduate Student Government held a special session meeting Sunday to confirm a senator from the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering and two Supreme Court justices.
USG Senate President Will Smith swore in computer science freshman Alex Arena as a new senator for the Fulton Schools. Arena said he wants to work on getting more female students into computer science majors and help with any legislation from other senators.

Economics junior James Malone and political science junior Tatiana Jenkins were selected for the Tempe USG Supreme Court positions after an application process.
The court positions were filled earlier than usual this year to hear former senator Isabelle Murray appeal her impeachment. Usually the positions are filled before elections so that they can oversee the process.
However, USG's bylaws call for the student government to nominate supreme court justices by Oct. 1. Failing to do so should result in a suspension of the USG President's compensation, according to the bylaws.
Tempe USG President Cassidy Possehl said both new justices will serve USG and ASU students well.
Jenkins said she is looking forward to working with the USG and has always wanted to have a role within the student government.
"I've always wanted to be involved with USG, and I hope to serve to the best of my capacity," she said.
