Tempe police reported the following incidents Monday:

A 43-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Jan. 18 on the 1400 block of East Apache Boulevard on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and an existing warrant, according to a police report.

During an argument with his girlfriend, the man had pulled a folding knife out of his pocket and held it under the woman’s chin, police reported.

The man told his girlfriend he was going to kill her approximately seven times while holding the knife to her, according to the report.

Witnesses told officers that they had seen the man threaten the woman, though she said he did not, police reported.

Upon arrest, the man said he had a knife with him and officers took the folding knife from the front pocket of his jacket, according to the report.

The man denied threatening his girlfriend, police reported.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered that the man had an existing Mesa warrant, according to the report.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.

A 19-year-old Tempe man was arrested Jan. 17 on the 900 block of West Tulane Drive on suspicion of disorderly conduct, paraphernalia possession and marijuana use, according to a police report.

The man’s family had awoken to hear the man arguing with his girlfriend in a "loud and argumentative” tone, police reported.

Over the course of approximately an hour, the family told the man to lower his voice about three times, according to the report.

The stepfather called police once he had heard the man hitting something downstairs, police reported.

Upon officer arrival, the man admitted to hitting his hand on the bed during the argument, according to the report.

During a search of the home, officers found a jar filled with a usable amount of marijuana and a pipe, which the man said he used for medical purposes, police reported.

The man did not have a medicinal marijuana card, according to the report.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.
