Omaha summers are the best.Eating ice cream at Ted & Wally's, wandering around the Henry Doorly Zoo, playing soccer at the fields at Zorinsky Lake Park — it can be very picturesque. But growing up in this eastern Nebraska city has its perks, especially if you're a baseball fan.And by perks, I mean the NCAA Division I Men's College World Series. My family has attended every tournament since we moved to the Midwest. Between trips to Great American Ball Park, Coors Field and Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium, my mom taught me to love baseball. The last time ASU baseball went to Omaha, the team went 0 for 2.It was painful to watch. I'm sure it was worse to be a player. And the way the Sun Devils are shaping up this year, I would do anything to watch them play TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.Come June 15, I will be in Arizona, working as an investigative reporter at News21. Until June 25 (or June 26), I will wish I was in my family's seats on the third base line, eating hot dogs and frozen lemonade, keeping score. Or outside the stadium finally allowed into the beer gardens. So, instead of enduring the miserable Arizona weather, take me down the paradise city, where the grass is green and the men are pretty.Reach the reporter at crcruz1@asu.edu or follow her on Twitter @CaitlinRCruz
