I don't remember the class I was in, nor what led to the conversation, but I do recall people I considered my friends looking at me and saying these words. In junior year of high school, I shared a table with two of my friends: one who I'd known since fifth grade, the other my water polo teammate. I don’t remember much of the conversation.

A 13-20 finish last year meant ASU men's basketball entered 2025-26 with few projecting them to make noise in a difficult Big 12 Conference.
