At first glance, the brown metal racks appear to be full of multicolored bikes. Upon taking a second glance the picture isn’t as perfect as you thought. It becomes noticeable that the turquoise bike to your left is missing a wheel and the shiny red bicycle a couple bikes over is without a seat. Remnants of a broken lock near an empty rack signify that one student’s mode of transportation may have found a new owner.

Dating back to 2002, Gregg Gillis aka “Girl Talk”, has been compounding handfuls of tracks by various artists and turning them in to what became the mashup. Layers of vacillating beats taken from distinctive songs create new life and take on new meanings. It’s guaranteed that there will be a bass line, chord or hook that will have you scratching your head wondering where you’ve heard it before.

“The first thing I did, as soon as I came to ASU, was look for the cycling club out here. And these guys were really helpful, Nike even offered to let me stay in their house,” electrical engineering graduate Aditya Yadav says of when she first came to ASU from India. ASU takes cycling just as seriously as any other sport. The club holds intense practices to prepare for their big days and create bonds while participating in something they love. As some say, “It’s a lifestyle.” Arizona State University’s Cycling Club started in the 1990s and is open to students, faculty and staff. “If they want to compete they can compete but they don’t have to,” ASU Cycling Club President Constatin Schreiber says. “It’s great we can develop people but everyone can choose their level of participation.” The Cycling Club holds meetings where the team discusses past races, hosts guest speakers and prepares for upcoming races. During one of their meetings, the team discusses a recent guest speaker, a doctor who spoke about healthy cycling training. “[A very important aspect of the club is] education. How to be a bike rider at first and than how to be a safe bike rider but it’s really all about having fun and being safe on the bike," Schreiber says. The Cycling Club participates in various races around Arizona. They also race using different bikes like cruisers and cycling bikes. From Arizona to San Diego, to North Carolina, the cycling team will be participating in various races around the country. The team’s recent race, the 2015 Criterium Race, took place around the Tempe campus’s Gammage Auditorium. Cyclists gathered around to participate. The Criterium had 15 races including collegiate, co-ed and Junior Men (ages 15-16). Not only were cyclists from the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University involved, but members of the community also participated. New Cycling Club member and sustainability junior Zoe Stein says,“I've been biking for fun for a while and last semester I studied abroad in Copenhagen and after that I really wanted to keep biking and do it at a more serious level.” ASU’s Cycling Club gives members the ability to improve their cycling while learning and meeting new people. Providing new racing opportunities or even lifestyles. Reach the writer at gvazque3@asu.edu and via Twitter @iamgisellevr.

Riding a bike for the first time is a moment most people never forget. That sense of accomplishment as each foot presses down on the pedals and the person pushing the bike from behind finally lets go. A growing breeze swirls around as the only direction the bike can go is forward. The feeling of freedom and independence becomes so overwhelming it is hard to believe it all came from a bike.

Ah, midterms. The halfway marker, allowing us to set our sights on the end of yet another semester. If this were a marathon, this would be the point where we hit "the wall" and push through, numb legs and all. Spring break is that much needed water stand at mile 22 of the course.

Get ready for a cosmic journey with Lord Quas in his third album “Yessir Whatever.” California based producer Madlib decided to rap over his beats one day, creating Quasimoto. His voice was too deep for his liking, so he decided to alter his voice, slowing the recorder down, rapping slowly and speeding the recording back up. The sound the process produced was a high-pitched yet authoritative voice of reason and outright delinquency. His alter ego Madlib, the person who lived in the flesh, would joined in. This is Quasi’s album and thus his world and Madlib is only a guest.

Some of the biggest highlights of the Super Bowl tend to be the entertainment. Whether viewers enjoy football or not, they always crowd around the couch at the announcement for halftime or they sit down to watch bands perform before the game commences. This year, ASU’s very own marching band had the honor of being part of the Super Bowl experience and performed on the football field before the kickoff.

Everything is better at night, especially music. The moon is out, the breeze is blowing and the day is finally over. And for some odd reason, when it's a full moon, everything turns into a blur and I get really hairy. Then, I turn into a really good basketball player. Kind of like "Teen Wolf". And when I'm engaging in hooliganism and surfing the tops off vans donned the "Wolfmobile" as I air guitar, there are certain albums I enjoy listening to. And here it is folks, my first listicle since that last time I wrote a listicle. Here are the top albums I like to listen to (on the record player of course, because my midnight hooliganism involves a bean bag chair and a book) at midnight and beyond.

Love—it’s magical in the sense that it has evolved as a basic necessity of human life; it has become an required step. You’re born, you grow up, you fall in love, you have a family, you die. Love has become as necessary as food, water and air.

After a long night of laughs, dancing and drinking on Mill Avenue, the bartender yells, “Last call!” Everyone finishes their last drink and heads out to the street to say their goodbyes. Another night in a college town, being wasted, and all they can think about now is being home.
