Heading into their long trip to Virginia, the ASU soccer team was 2-0 and had outscored their opponents 8-0.

When ASU women’s soccer head coach Kevin Boyd was asked if his team thought they could upset No. 4 Virginia (4-0), there was no hesitation in his response.

If it weren’t for the occasional headscarf or “insha'Allah,” (a phrase that means “God willing) you may not guess that this is the first Muslim Students Association meeting of the year, and that these 70 Sun Devils (about half of them new members) are waiting to break the Ramadan fast together.
If the match between ASU and South Carolina was just a couple seconds longer, the Gamecocks would have scored and sent the game to overtime.

After the ASU women’s soccer team ran all over the Lumberjacks during Friday’s 7-0 blowout victory, freshman forward Alexandra Doller said the conditioning at ASU was far tougher than it was at Tempe Marcos De Niza High School.
The “HEYYYY BATTER BATTER,” the taunts, the boos, the woos — everything can affect the way your team can play.
