Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are vastly underestimating the abilities of immigrants from South America and Central America to cross the border illegally. The presidential candidates' proposals to build a wall across the border are preposterous because they do not attack the root causes of why people and drugs are making their way to U.S. and the proposals would not fix the other ways illegal immigrants are crossing the border.

Hundreds of political officials, government representatives and climate experts are in Paris debating how to reduce greenhouse emissions worldwide. The circulating rhetoric signals a common understanding amongst representatives that the mightiest nations must take charge on the matter, but developing countries also have a role to play. The current climate agreement being examined in these debates does not provide enough support for developing countries and expected efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

The U.S. and its global partners have adapted their strategies in attacking ISIS by backing a new group in the northern region of Iraq and Syria. Last week, a major offensive movement took place as the Kurdish Peshmerga and the Yazidi fighters, backed my American air support, pushed into Mount Sinjar in northern Iraq in order to reclaim the strategically crucial Highway 47 that connects Syria to Iraq from Mosul to Raqqa; as well as the city adjacent to Mount Sinjar inhabited by the religious minority, Yazidi people.

Venturing around campus, I see people get hit or nearly hit almost every day. The signs painted on ASU's concrete command "yield to pedestrians," however, cyclists are the real dictators of traffic. Riders maneuvering through campus show that there is a "move or be hit" mentality, and cyclists think they have the right of way just because they are going faster than everyone else.

President Obama, along with other supporters of the Iran nuclear deal, is placing unearned trust in Iran's government.
