The ASU gymnastics team had another night of season-highs in its third away meet of the season at Stanford on Monday night.
Despite this, the Gym Devils fell short to the Cardinal 195.750-194.325.
ASU stayed close because of success on the floor. It posted its highest score of the season with a 48.975, beating the Cardinal in the event. Freshman Corinne Belkoff led the way for the Gym Devils with a score of 9.875 and finished second overall in the event.
Belkoff competed in her first career all-around, posting highs in all four events. In addition to her 9.875 on beam, she scored a 9.750 on vault and a 9.500 on bars, which was her first time on them this season.
Belkoff finished fourth in the all-around.
Freshman Heather Udowitch also posted career highs in the three events she competed in: bars (9.625), beam (9.775), and floor (9.725).
It was Udowitch’s second time on floor for the Gym Devils after she debuted a great performance last week at Oregon State.
Freshman Katelyn Lentz competed in her fourth career all-around, posting a season-high of 38.975 and taking second place. In doing so, she also scored a career-high on bars with a 9.700 and matched her season-high on vault with a 9.700.
Senior Allie Salas matched a career-high on beam with a 9.725. She placed third in the all-around.
Senior Carissa Kraus saw success on bars, matching her season-high with a score of 9.750 finishing third overall in the event.
On vault, senior Taylor Allex finished second overall with a 9.875.
As a whole, the Gym Devils posted their highest team score of the season with a 194.325. Despite this, Stanford walked away with the victory.
The team is now 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the Pac-12, but rising scores show that the Gym Devils are still in the fight toward regionals.
ASU will return home Feb. 15 to compete against Cal at 7:00 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena.
