Police Beat: Man inhales spray paint


Tempe police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

A 48-year-old Phoenix man was arrested on charges of burglary at Walgreens on 1719 E. Southern Road. He allegedly took 12 cartons of cigarettes from the employee stockroom area and stuffed them inside his shirt.

A 53-year-old transient man was arrested on charges of inhaling a substance in the 2300 block of West Rivera Drive. He was allegedly inhaling silver metallic spray paint.

A 25-year-old Gilbert man was arrested on charges of assault in the 4600 block of East University Drive. He allegedly struck his girlfriend causing a knot on her head.

A 26-year-old Tempe woman was arrested on charges of assault in the 1000 block of West Apollo Road. She reportedly had been in a fight with her husband and caused a scratch on his neck and chest. She also allegedly threw a soda can at his head.
