This time the words spoke louder than actions.

On Nov. 6, Andy Rooney will be presented with the Cronkite Award for Excellence for outstanding journalism. Rooney is an exceptional journalist, and I think he deserves the award, but what was he thinking when he made that comment about women sportscasters?

"The only thing that really bugs me about television coverage is those damn women they have down on the sidelines, who don't know what the hell they are talking about," Rooney said on The Boomer Esiason Show.

He should have stopped there. But he didn't.

He continued to say that a woman has no business making comments about a football game at all.

The best part is that Rooney claims to not be a sexist person.

To say that women in general are not capable of comprehending football is ignorant and sexist.
