Devil Dish: Basketball looking good after loss to Cal

Pathetic.

That's the only word I can think of that even begins to describe the Sun Devils' performance Saturday against Cal.

I had tickets to the game, but in retrospect, I'm glad I gave them away. The fans who went - or at least the several hundred who managed to stay until time ran out - should think about suing ASU, claiming a breach of the implied contract that by attending a college football game, one will see two college football teams compete.

The ASU "team" that played Saturday played without conviction, without emotion and seemingly without interest in the game's outcome. Players were joking and laughing with each other on the sidelines, even in the fourth quarter.

This from a team that just got its proverbial butt handed to it on a plate by a team with a losing record. At home. In the Homecoming game.

When does basketball season start again?
