The lower-level walkway along the east side of Sun Devil Stadium will be closed Saturday during the ASU football team's Pac-10 opener against Oregon State, Associate Athletic Director Mike Chismar said. Students must access their seats and leave their seats through the top of the sections, as the walkway will be off limits from the time the gates open.
Last week, the student section rushed the field to celebrate ASU's 44-7 victory over Iowa. Students attempted to bring down the goalpost but didn't succeed.
Chismar urged students to stay off the field after Saturday's game, saying that the steel goalpost could cause severe injuries if they are taken down.
"If for some reason they come down, we're not talking about a laceration here," Chismar said. "You could get seriously injured."
