Pie in the Sky: More images, video clips from 'State Press' piefest

Photo Editor David Lukens had one of the more memorable pie moments on Monday when Undergraduate Student President-Elect Yaser Alamoodi tossed a pie directly on top of Lukens' head.

The State Press' editorial board issued a challenge: If 10 percent of the undergraduate student body on the Tempe campus voted in the student government election, the whole editorial board would take a pie in the face.

You delivered. You went out and voted. So the editors took some pie. (View slideshow of images)

Undergraduate Student Government President-Elect Yaser Alamoodi and Vice President-Elect Corinne Widmer took the tin by the hands and laid that cream on thick on Hayden Lawn Monday afternoon.

I managed to weasel out of taking a pie because I am not a member of the editorial board, and because I had expensive electronics to protect.

Yeah, right. So the excuse worked.

I'm hearing reports from the editors that a lingering smell of sweet cream seems to be haunting them wherever they go. Some are stopping by my office to tell me the cream is still in their hair and stuck in their ears.

Certainly, no one would hug them while covered in whipped topping.

What follows is some footage from the event. Enjoy. And just to warn you, the language gets a bit salty at times, so if you're easily offended, please do not click on these video clips.

City Editor Amanda Keim discovered that no one would hug her after she was hit in the face with a pie Monday afternoon. The State Press editorial board had agreed to be hit in the face with pies if more than 10 percent of the undergraduate student body on the Tempe campus voted in student government elections.
