THANK YOU NOTE

As Veterans Day arrives, I find myself thinking of one of the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad: “Whosoever is not thankful to the people, is not thankful to Allah.”

Many of us in this country have traveled from chaotic and intolerant countries throughout the world. We came here to make a living for ourselves and our families. Though we are thankful to live in such a peaceful country, we sometimes forget that we are able to reside here because of millions of courageous servicemen and women.

As a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and proud American-Muslim who emigrated from another country, I have witnessed the intolerance that is prominent in some countries. Because of this, I want to show the gratitude to the men and women who make this country a peaceful place to live in.

Your service to this country is appreciated and will never be forgotten.
