Letters: Nov. 17

Reading request

(In response to Uriel Garcia’s Nov. 16 article “DREAM Act supporters unveil Tempe billboard.”)

I recommend Tyler Bowyer, president of College Republicans, to read the bill. No person entering the country illegally after the passage of the bill would benefit under the DREAM Act. Furthermore, Tyler's assumption that going to school is an incentive for immigrants to come here indicates his complete lack of understanding of the dynamics of immigration. I hope Tyler doesn't seek office, [because] uninformed politicians are a dime a dozen. It's time for real solutions.

The State Press only has 14 issues left this semester. But just in case you haven’t noticed, this box here is reserved in our paper for your thoughts and comments on how we’re doing and what we’re covering.

If the opinion section doesn’t question or qualify an angle on a topic that you find particularly important, we encourage you to write in and tell us about it. Or, if anything else in the paper gets your goat, then we want you to let us know.

This independent daily wouldn’t be here without its readers, and we respect what you think of us. So flatter us. Or confront us, if you will. We want you to. Letters don’t have to be long either; in fact, we prefer that you keep them around 250 words in length at the maximum.

So, drop us a line at letters.editor@asu.edu. Maybe your response will be published in one of the few future issues left this semester.
