DUMPING THE MANDATE

(In response to Andrew Hedlund’s Dec. 2 column “Breaking down the individual mandate.”)

Your points about the Republicans being two-faced about [health care reform] are accurate enough, but you may be discounting the growing number of us fed up with both parties and their corporatist ways. The ACA is a thinly veiled bailout of the insurance industry and does virtually nothing to address the core problem with health care: runaway inflation. We need cheaper health care, not a mandate to buy increasingly expensive, and increasingly worthless, insurance.
