Tempe Police reported the following incident Friday:
A Tempe woman was arrested Feb. 12 on the 1000 block of East Susan Lane on suspicion of criminal damage, according to a police report.
The woman and her boyfriend were fighting inside their shared apartment, because she accused him of cheating on her, police reported.
During the argument, the boyfriend grabbed a plastic toy from the floor and held it between himself and the woman, according to the report.
The woman told police she thought the boyfriend was going to throw the toy at her, so she knocked over many of his glass smoking pipes from the shelf above their television, police reported.
All of the boyfriend’s pipes, which cost an estimated $15,000, were broken, according to the report.
The woman tried to leave the apartment after breaking the pipes, but her boyfriend grabbed her wrist and punched her in the face, police reported.
Police saw that the woman’s cheek was swollen from the punch after they arrived, according to the report.
The boyfriend was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and transported to Tempe City Jail, police reported.
The woman was also transported to the jail, where she was booked and released, according to the report.
The woman and her boyfriend share a child and lived in their apartment for 11 months, police reported.

Former ASU wide receiver and tight end Tyrice Thompson died Saturday morning after receiving multiple stab wounds while working as a bouncer at Martini Ranch on Sunday.
The 27-year-old was being treated at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center for serious and life-threatening injuries, Scottsdale Police Sgt. Mark Clark said.
Thompson’s critical condition kept him from speaking to police and identifying the person who stabbed him, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.
According to the department, Thompson and other bar security escorted a group of men and women out of the establishment for fighting.
One man began fighting outside with security staff, including Thompson, which is when Thompson was stabbed five times, according to the release.
Police questioned the staff, security and all parties involved, but no one saw Thompson get stabbed, according to the police.
After further investigation, police arrested the man Tuesday on suspicion of stabbing Thompson, but the man said he did fight security but did not stab anyone, according to the department.
The man was released pending further investigation as charges will be filed at a later date, according to the department.
Police did not find a knife at the scene or in anyone’s possession Sunday, according to the department.
Thompson graduated from ASU in May 2007 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies, according to Sun Devil Athletics.
He was first introduced to Sun Devil football in 2003 as a “redshirt” for the scouting team but would go on to play 46 career games for the University.
In 2006 Thompson received the Special Teams Iron Man Award for being recognized as “one of ASU’s finest special teams players,” according to the Sun Devil Athletics.Reach the reporter at sraymund@asu.edu or follow him on Twitter @ShawnFVRaymundo

I lean on the counter at my restaurant job, eagerly staring at two coworkers a few feet from me who have their backs to each other. I contemplate how much time I actually have.

Their eyes light up, as they reminisce about their first days meeting each other. Laughing at the irony of attending the same high school for three years and never crossing paths until near the end of her senior year.

The ground at the Singh Farms's gate is completely flooded from the rainfall the night before, making it an Indiana Jones operation to leap from one dry spot to another. The difficulty lies in preventing my shoes and feet from getting completely soaked or worse — falling into the muddy driveway with expensive camera and audio gear. After I make several gravity-defying leaps to enter through the gate, I look around at the numerous mud puddles scattered throughout the entrance of the farm. With every puddle avoided, I inch closer to the forest-like yard. The increasing humidity from the overcast weather and rain creates a sticky sweat that glues my clothes to my body.
