Sparky's Quill: Daylight Savings Time Unwound

Being in Arizona around this time of year isn't very special. Yeah, we have great weather and all of your friends back home on the East Coast are seeing their first snowstorm of the year. But so what? Our clocks stay the same all year. How boring.

YouTube Sensation: Making A Career Out Of Pranking

SPM Prankster from The State Press on Vimeo. When he’s not studying film and directing at Mesa Community College, Dawson Gurley is a professional prankster. He is planning on transferring to ASU next fall, but in the meantime, he frequently visits the campus to film footage for his YouTube channel, BigDawsTV. With over 28,000 subscribers, he entertains his audience by creating prank videos ranging from “Awkwardly Staring at Strangers”, “Falling in Public”, to Messing with ASU Sun Devils. The weirdest reaction he’s ever encountered happened when his friend was greeted with a fist to the face while in the middle of pranking someone for a video. His channel has over 2,000,000 views and counting, and Gurley says he is looking forward to seeing where his videos will take him. Reach the producer at ltnguy14@asu.edu or via Twitter @luu_t_nguyen

My idea of a horror movie consists of a post apocalyptic world where Jeffrey Campbell and Chipotle have ceased to exist. But hey, blood, guts and hatchets are a close second. Afraid of the pulse-quickening thrill we call a scary movie? Follow these eight simple tips and you’ll make it out alive.

Newlin's 3 a.m. Diary: Retrograde Mercury

I wouldn’t say I’m one of those people who are really invested in astrology and believe in horoscopes, but it has always interested me. I’m a Gemini, which means I am good at multitasking, I enjoy being around people and am very creative. I identify with many of these traits but it’s not a perfect fit.
