Tempe Police reported the following incidents Sunday:A 24-year-old Tempe man was arrested June 19 on the 400 block of West 9th Street on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident, fugitive from justice, driving with a suspended license and the possession and use of marijuana, according to a police report.The man was driving his BMW west on Broadway Road and as he was making a turn, he collided with a motorcyclist traveling eastbound, police reported.After the collision, the man fled the scene, not providing aid or his information to the motorcyclist, police reported.The motorcyclist suffered serious physical injuries described as a degloving (when an irreplaceable amount of skin and tissue is lost) of his left hand, left calf and left thigh, according to the report. Doctors said that he would require numerous medical procedures and surgeries to possibly repair the injuries, according to the report.After the man fled the scene he abandoned his car in a parking lot, police reported.When it was located it had significant damage to the front driver side, including a missing headlight, according to the report.There was also biological tissue of the victim stuck to the front driver side quarter panel which was consistent with the extend of his injuries, police reported.The man later admitted in an interview that he was part of the crash and that he panicked after the collision and fled the scene, police reported.During the search there was a bag of marijuana found on the man’s person and it was revealed that the man’s driving privileges were suspended due to court action, according to the report. Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:A 21-year-old man was arrested June 20 on the on the intersection of Meridian Road and Crescent Avenue on suspicion of threatening a witness with damage of property, burglary, theft of a means of transportation, armed robbery, criminal damage, possession of weapon by a prohibited person and driving with a suspended or revoked license, according to a police report.The man originally approached the victim’s vehicle, a white 2000 Chevy Blazer, while it was parked with its engine running outside a Fry's, police reported. The victim’s girlfriend and three-year-old son were waiting in the car, police reported.When the man approached the front driver’s door, the girlfriend leaned over, opened the door and offered the man money for a bus pass, according to the report.The man then pulled the door open and threatened her and her child saying “Don’t make a scene or I’ll shoot you and the baby,” according to the report.The man entered the drivers seat of the vehicle while the woman exited and retrieved her baby, police reported. He fled with the vehicle westbound on Baseline, according to the report.The man was described as a white male, tall with a skinny build, with a dirty appearance and multiple piercings, police reported.The police located the stolen car nearly an hour later with a man matching his description, according to the report.The officers followed the car and performed a high-risk stop of the vehicle placing him under arrest, police reported.During an interview the man said that he stole the vehicle because he was hot and needed to get out of the sun, but denied threatening the occupants, according to the report. He said after he stole the vehicle he wasn’t driving anywhere, he was just “cruising” and that he was planning to ditch the vehicle later, police reported. He told police that he knew there was a handgun in the center console because he handled the firearm and put it back, according to the report.He admitted he was on probation and is not allowed to be carrying a firearm, according to the report. He also told the officers he threw one of the victim’s cellphones out the window after it was retrieved by investigators , police reported.The man admitted to police in the interview that he was a member of the criminal street gang “Crazy White Boyz,” and had corresponding tattoos to the gang, police reported. Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:A 40-year-old California man was arrested June 14 on the on the 1800 block of South Cutler Drive on suspicion of five counts of voyeurism, two counts of criminal trespass, false report to law enforcement, resisting arrest and failure to appear in court, according to a police report.Officers contacted the man on a suspicious person call saying a person in all white looking through multiple resident’s windows and into their homes, police reported. The officer found the man and asked him for ID at which point the man gave the officer a false name and social security number, police reported.The officer discovered it was a false identity because he ran a record check and found that there was no record of the name out of Arizona or California, according to the report.The officer told the man it was against the law to give false information and the man denied that he was, according to the report.The officer then attempted to place the man in handcuffs until he could be identified, police reported. The man then stood up and took off running from the scene delaying the investigation, according to the report.The officer found the man hiding behind a wall of a bank on West Broadway Road, police reported.The officer finally managed to place the man under arrest and found his read identification in his pocket, according to the report.Running a record check, the officer found that the man was also a registered sex offender, police reported.The man later said that he didn’t know anyone in the neighborhood and that he lives with his aunt in Phoenix, according to the report. Upon further investigation it was revealed that he also entered a fenced apartment complex with signs saying “Do Not Trespass,” police reported. A witness also came forward and said they actually saw the man looking through their window , according to the report.The man waved his handgun toward her even though she didn’t verbally engage him, according to the report. Tempe Police reported the following incidents Monday:A 65-year-old Tempe man was arrested May 29 on the intersection of South College Avenue and East Paseo Way on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to a police report.The man and the reported victim were at a bar where they got in a verbal altercation over the television channel, police reported. The reported victim left the area after the argument and went home, police reported.Later the reported victim saw the man because they both live in the same area and tried to discuss what had occurred at the bar earlier, according to the report.The man swore at the reported victim who was sitting on his bicycle in an unthreatening manner five to seven feet away from the man, according to the report.The man then pulled a dark-colored Kel-tec P32 .32 mm handgun out of his waistband and pointed it at the reported victim, police reported. Upon seeing the gun the reported victim told the man to calm down and tried to talk to him whereupon the man pointed the gun at the other man’s head, according to the report.The reported victim said that he believed the handgun was loaded at the time of the incident and feared for his life, police reported.The man eventually lowered the gun after he was talked down and the reported victim asked why the man would point the gun at his head for nothing, according to the report.The man got angry again and another verbal altercation occurred, the man then said he was calling 911 as he held the gun to the reported victims face, police reported.The reported victim called passing people for help who witnessed the man pointing the gun at the other unarmed man’s head, according to the report. The reported victim then called his friend in the neighborhood who arrived when she got out of her vehicle unarmed, according to the report.The man waved his handgun toward her even though she didn’t verbally engage him, according to the report. Tempe Police reported the following incidents Sunday:A 35-year-old Tempe man was arrested May 19 on the 700 block of North Mill Avenue on suspicion of failure to register as a sex offender, failure to carry ID as a sex offender, failure to produce ID and resisting police, according to a police report.Officers contacted the man and his friend, the driver of a black 2001 Ford Focus that officers said appeared suspicious, police reported.The man and his friend exited the vehicle and the man began to walk away from officers, police reported.The man then took off running, attempting to escape through an apartment complex in close proximity to their location, according to the report. An officer was injured running in pursuit of the man and was unable to catch up, according to the report.The man was located on a Blue Orbit Bus after a Tempe citizen advised Tempe police that a man matching his description boarded the bus, police reported. The man identified himself explaining he didn’t have his identification with him, according to the report.A records check revealed the man was a sex offender after the officer verified the photo on the ID was a match for the man he had detained, police reported.He later explained that he was in Tempe to visit his son for his birthday and acknowledged that he knew he was supposed to have his ID on him, police reported.The man also said that the sex offender registry address on his ID should be his mother’s in St. John’s and that the address on his ID is wrong, according to the report. Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:A 30-year-old Tempe woman was arrested May 29 on the 1400 block of South McClintock Drive on suspicion of assault, criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a police report.
Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:A 28-year-old Mesa man was arrested May 29 on the 1900 block of East Auburn Drive on suspicion of assault and criminal trespass, according to a police report.The man unlawfully entered a residence on the block, walking past a slightly opened door and through the living room area, police reported. He was met by the homeowner in the center of the house, according to the report.The homeowner was babysitting the man’s child with permission of the child’s mother, police reported. When the woman told the man to get out of the home he refused to leave, remaining in the residence, police reported.The babysitter then placed herself between the man and his child because she was told not to give the child to anyone but child’s mother, according to the report.After the babysitter attempted to protect the child, the man put his hand on her chest and tried to push her away, according to the report.She tried to push him off over her but he threw her down to the floor where she hit the back of her head, police reported.The woman and the child fell to the floor and the man fell on top of the homeowner where he began to elbow and hit the her as she attempted to push him off, police reported.During the struggle, the woman’s son saw the man attacking her and jumped on top of him to get him off his mother, according to the report.The man elbowed the woman son on his side, police reported.The woman had not met the man before this incident, but had a surveillance video inside her home where the entire altercation was captured, according to the report.The man was arrested a few hours later at his residence where he was detained, police reported. The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.
Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:A Laveen man was arrested May 24 on the 400 block of South Mill Avenue on suspicion of assault, aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, according to a police report.The man was originally contacted by an event management security guard who was escorting him out of the building, police reported. The man then got into a physical altercation with the security guard, leaving him with scratches on his legs and arms as well as torn clothing, according to the report.The man was then contacted by two Tempe officers who attempted to detain him, police reported. He resisted by slipping his restraints and then punching one of the officers, police reported.As an officer tried to take the man to the ground, the man reached for and grabbed the officer’s holstered gun, according to the report.
