NBC fumbles late night again

It seems that NBC has not been learning its lessons from the late night wars of the past 20 years. I warn this as I see a third late night war approaching.

This story starts on a humid late August afternoon in St. Louis, Missouri. I step into a coffeehouse where I’m scheduled to meet Fox broadcaster Joe Buck. I thought I only had 45 minutes to pick his brain thanks to a friend. It turned out I would have a lot more time to observe than that.

The last person you might think of quelling the tense relations between the United States and North Korea is a character such as Dennis Rodman. Late last month Rodman visited North Korea in hopes of bringing peace to the country.

The Orpheum Theater is a beautifully-restored old theater that is definitely worth visiting.

Art of the Matter: Fiddler on the Roof

On Sunday I went to see one of the last plays of the 2012/2013 season at The Orpheum Theater in Downtown Phoenix. The play was “Fiddler on the Roof,” an oft-performed play, but a new one to me.

After his doctor advised him to escape the cold Wisconsin winters, Wright visited central Arizona and, like most of us from out of state, fell in love with the winter weather. In 1937 he set up shop in the area of Northern Scottsdale (where basically nothing existed).
