Live and Otherwise: Fostering the Tunes
You’re out on a date with an amazing person. They’re funny, charming, and all around impossible to dislike.

My fellow bloggers Mary, Faith ,Mackenzie and I slipped on some cocktail dresses and strapped into some heels for a night out at RAW (an independent art organization for local photographers, fashion designers, and artists). Their Phoenix showcase event was last Friday. Located at the Foundry in downtown Phoenix, the night’s event was buzzing with thought-provoking art, cultural dancing, and the flashbulbs of photography.
I am absolutely, unequivocally in love with “The New Girl.” Zooey Deschanel should definitely be considered as great a comic performer as the best of them.
With a Catholic upbringing, I haven’t had a lot of exposure to Judaism. Yes, I attended a bar mitzvah here and there during middle school, but that just meant I self-consciously watched and repeated what everyone else in-the-know was doing.
“You don’t have to be 6 foot 4, 240 pounds,” says senior Trevor Fulton, a Biochemistry major. As the men’s rugby team preached about the above statement, it seemed to have lacked a little support at first; size usually matters.
This past Friday, I attended an event at The Foundry in downtown Phoenix on 1st Street called RAW. As my friend Mary explained in her all-encompassing post, RAW is an independent organization that showcases various artists from all creative fields.
In May, Team Bondi developed a game called L.A. Noire in which the player interacts in the 1950s as an upstanding detective named Cole Phelps.
Au Gratis. A beautiful Latin phrase that expresses a sentiment that makes my heart sing with a deep-seated happiness.
On Friday night I headed out to Foundry on First in Phoenix to check out the RAW: Phoenix presents JUNCTION put on by Raw: natural born artist, an arts organization that provides independent artists of all creative genres with the resources, tools, and exposure needed to cultivate innovative art.
I don’t know how I could possibly do this blog post justice when my editor-in-chief of State Press Magazine is a huge fan.
It’s official. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back at Starbucks and I can hardly control my excitement to put my t-strap sandals away for good in replacement of my utilitarian boots.
“Deus Ex: Human Revolution” sure loves the spotlight a little too much. Last time, it was a mishap with GameStop and the Onlive codes that caught journalists’ eyes and ears.
At the break of dawn, a lure plunges into the Roosevelt Lake Reservoir in Gila County, Arizona. Dawn to dusk, dusk to dawn, ASU’s Bass Fishing Team is consumed by fishing.
Sometimes, I think people try to go to greater lengths than they need to for crafting.
When I make something, I always try to use materials that may not typically be used in a project.
I usually enjoy being surprised. Whether it’s in a movie theater perched at the edge of my seat due to a respectably thrilling horror flick, or being pleasantly surprised that the bus has arrived on time, it’s quite the splendid web of emotion.
When the chilly temps send us to shiver in out boots (perhaps a few months from now of us Phoenicians), darker hues typically come to mind.
It’s not easy to embrace Argentine tango at the start—literally. In order to understand the graceful dance, a dancer has to embody a sophisticated posture, to lean in elegantly, to allow another person to move her and to be smoothly guided. He should at least buy the girl dinner first, right? Last weekend, I attended a milonga practice at The Sunday Social Milonga in Scottsdale led by Steve and Diane (a milonga being a place or an event where tango is danced). Interestingly enough, the intimate dance form is said to contain elements of strong African rhythms due to the African community in Buenos Aires during the time it was developed in the 1890s.
The latest episode of Entourage, in its final season, brings more than a dose of drama—and not just Kevin Dillon’s character.
There are plenty of misconceptions that plague rugby. The comparison to football for one and with no padding required, how injury prone of a sport it is.
