Piece of Craft: Poetically Crafty

Although this year’s winter break was much too short, it’s good to be back and writing for SPM for yet another semester.  As usual, you can expect nothing but the craftiest of posts, including many more craft ideas and DIY projects, artist/crafter interviews, and great crafty places to go.  If there is something else you would be interested in hearing about, definitely shoot me an e-mail at anytime. Over winter break, I had some time (but let’s be honest, not very much) to do some crafting.  I chose the projects that I had been really thinking about and had the energy and commitment to do.  One of these projects was a scarf idea I came across on various internet websites.  The original crafty source came from a blog called Stamp 48 (although inspired by the We Are Owls collection), which features various DIY craft and home décor types of ideas.

Broke's the New Black: Designer, Entrepreneur, Freshman?

Before we thought possible, here we are back for another semester.  Good thing text book rentals aren’t the only thing emerging this season.  Also returning this spring is my blog, Broke’s the New Black, for another semester of weekly fashion tips, interviews and other stylish shenanigans. Over break, I had the privilege of being introduced to a very impressive individual.  Neema Mahmoodi, an ASU freshman, has picked up quite the extracurricular activity: starting his own clothing line.  Watch out, because this kid is only continuing to gain some serious style points. 1.

Live and Otherwise: The Sound of Cheap

It’s always amazing when there are concert designed around a discount price. My extreme lack of funds increases my disposition towards cheaper shows and even free events have a special place in my heart.

Piece of Craft: Crafter Profile: Lee Gainer

My friends like to send me pictures of various craft projects that they want me to attempt next all the time or that they’d like me to talk about on Piece of Craft. Recently, I was shown a photo on Pinterest.com of a very interesting piece of art in which the artist rolled up pieces of recycled papers to create a one-of-a-kind design.

Maroon and Gamer: Is EA Cruel?

This might just be me being nostalgic and reminiscing about the good ol’ days of the simple act of purchasing a video game, but I miss the simplicity of it all.
