Turf Talk: Plummeting Doubt in Student Pride

Arizona State University wants Sun Devils to have that “Sun Devil Experience.” This is why on Fridays you see students and faculty rocking gold shirts and, in spurts, sporting neon trucker hats and paper cutouts of James Harden’s beard. Looking out over the Tempe Campus from the Student Recreation Center in her Sun Devil swag, Stefani Plummer, the assistant director of campus recreation, says she can see this revitalization of pride.

Graham adds six to football staff

Changes continue to come for the ASU football program. As coach Todd Graham continues to seek for coaches to fill the final few vacancies on his coaching staff, he made six new hires Wednesday.

D.J. Foster commits to Sun Devils

Saguaro High School's D.J. Foster announced his commitment to Arizona State in front of friends, family and teammates Friday. Foster is the No. 2 ranked player in Arizona, according to Rivals.com. He is also ranked 71st nationally.

Chris Ball, who spent the past three seasons at Washington State as an assistant head coach, co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach, is one of the newest additions to the ASU coaching staff and will coach the secondary.

Yes, the Patriots have a talented offense with a dual tight end threat of Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. Yes, the Patriots are favored to take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Yes, a team with a 9-7 regular season record has never won a Super Bowl. However, the Patriots were also favored in 2008 — and history has a tendency to repeat itself.
