Other than Ramen: Girl Scout Cookie Shake

Every month, Dairy Queen introduces a special Blizzard of the Month. Caramel Waffle Cone, Brownie Batter, or Pumpkin Pie–you name it and I’ll be driving to DQ to try it. This month I was expecting to hear that the special Blizzard would be a Girl Scout Cookie flavor, like maybe Tagalong or Samoa, but instead Dairy Queen is serving up a Mint Oreo Blizzard (ironically similar to a Thin Mint). To satisfy my craving for a Girl Scout ice cream dessert and to make up for my disappointment I realized that I could make my own shake with my favorite cookies! Create your own Girl Scout Cookie Shake by incorporating your favorite cookie flavor into ice cream and serve with whipped cream. For tips on which cookies shake up best, check out this blog post from cakespy.com. Ingredients 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream ¼ cup of milk 6 or so crushed Girl Scout Cookies Directions Combine all ingredients in the blender.

Downtown Dispatch: The Urban Setting of Urban Beans

Off of 7th Street in Phoenix is a quaint coffee shop that is dedicated to using local products, and having a nice space where people can mingle, sip coffee, and play Scrabble together. Urban Beans, located in midtown Phoenix, offers an array of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, along with locally made pastries and coffee drinks that are sure to settle anyone’s craving for caffeine. When I first went to Urban Beans back in January, the first thing I noticed was the size of the room, which is downright large compared to most coffee shops in the downtown area.

So Zack Snyder has been pegged to do the new Superman movie. Yes, after four Christopher Reeve movies, one Bryan Singer movie to supposedly fit in with that canon, and several solid cartoon movies, we’re starting all over again. To be honest, I don’t mind it. Here I go losing a nerd-credibility point, but I have never seen any of the Reeve Super-movies.
