Live and Otherwise: Dirty Vegas

Remember that Mitsubishi commercial from a number of years ago (circa 2001), where there were two guys and a woman driving in an eclipse and she was performing all of these crazy arm-dance moves?

Palm Walk Runway: Natural Beauty

Now, I know that I have always been a little wary of organic or natural beauty products. But without trying them myself, I have no real expertise on whether it is really better for you or not. However, after reading an article on whowhatwear.com by Erin Lee Smith, a knowledgeable makeup artist on eco-friendly beauty products, really changed my outlook on natural products. In the article, Erin went through individual products that would be used daily in preparation for the day and described what natural ingredient each product contains. Piece of Craft: Citrus Seedling Pot

Stumbling through the grapevine of blogs and other Internet websites, I found myself flipping through the pages of My Roman Apartment, a blog about the arts, engineering, and anything in between that just seems the slightest bit cool and innovative.

Other than Ramen: Earth Day Every Day

Happy Belated Earth Day, Other than Ramen readers! Earth Day was Friday,  but this day really left an impact on me, so I decided to write a little follow-up reflection. Downtown Dispatch: Torched Goodness

Chocolate, vanilla, lavender, coconut, lemon and s’mores are all flavors of Crème Brulee that can be found around the Phoenix Metropolitan area in Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef Eric Ireland’s unique food truck. From the outside, the Torched Goodness food truck looks like any other food truck, but what is being made on the inside sets it apart from all the other run-of-the-mill food trucks.

Other than Ramen: Easter Egg Sandwiches

Remember when we were kids and it was part of the tradition to dye Easter eggs with family? My cousins and I would go all out with stickers, glitter and tie-dye in competition for the prettiest egg. It was always a sad moment when the beautiful, hand crafted shells of the hard boiled eggs would be broken in order to make deviled eggs or egg salad.

Palm Walk Runway: Colorful Palette

Many times people are always wondering what type of bag they should buy for the season, and this spring, the only answer is: a bright bag.  No matter what the style—a long strap bag, a drawstring bag, or a fun clutch—make sure you choose a color that definitely stands out. Greens are a definite color that is in.

Piece of Craft: Eggs as a Holiday Centerpiece

I’m not a religious person by any means, but I’ve always loved the symbolic meaning of the egg. During Easter, eggs seem almost too ubiquitous; they are hidden in the plastic form for children to find or they are hard boiled to eat for the holiday or to use for crafts.

Other than Ramen: Pumpkin Squash Ravioli Review

This week, I continued my quest to find the most delicious microwave meals for college students. While roaming the aisles of the freezer section at the grocery store, the Healthy Choice All Natural Entrees stood out to me. The tagline, “Real food.

Piece of Craft: Canvas Remix and Beads

Alisa Burke, one of my favorite crafters and bloggers, has a book entitled Canvas Remix. This book has always been at the top of my list in terms of craft books because it gives so many ideas and methods for creating mixed-media accessories.
