Palm Walk Runway: Classy Style
Now that the weather has finally hit 99 degrees, there is no going back.

I love names that leave nothing for speculation. For example: British Sea Power. The first thought: is this band British?
Coupon websites are a great way to save money while grocery shopping on a college student budget. Have you ever thought about using them? I’m not saying that you should go “Extreme Couponing” like the TLC television series, but it never hurts to save a little extra cash, especially with summer vacation approaching. Finding trustworthy coupon websites can be slightly tricky because there is always a chance that some sites will include fake coupons. “Don't Waste Your Money” consumer reporter John Matarese published the article “Best coupon websites for grocery savings.” For the story he talked to coupon guru Andrea Deckard who recommended her top three valid websites: Coupons.com SmartSource.com RedPlum.com Couponsta.com I checked out these sites for myself and they were very user-friendly and included realistic grocery items, not just random items the stores are trying to get rid of. While browsing the items on sale on the website, all you have to do is click which coupons you want to “clip” and then print them out all at once when your ready to head to the store. Don’t be alarmed when the site asks you to download their printing software, though.
While browsing through one of my favorite fashion trend websites, whowhatwear.com, I came across an easy do-it-yourself project. This spring, there has been much of the feminine look everywhere, however, this unique-looking Burberry coat gives a slightly dangerous, punk rock look, but at the same time very trendy and fashionable. For the project you will need: -A trench coat (the one used on the website was from H&M and was $60.
"The Dark Knight" wasn’t as good as you think it is. Oh (censored). No he didn’t! Yes actually, yes he did.
This semester has proven to be a very busy one for myself, but luckily I haven’t really been faced with the hassle of eating lunch in-between classes.
When it comes to creating art, canvas has almost always been my go-to medium. Whether you’re painting, creating a collage, or doing something else artistic, canvas is great because it is a flat surface purchased ready for artistic use and to be hanged on any wall.
So you guys know Chris Nolan right? Let me guess, you loved "The Dark Knight," and you loved "Inception" (what was going on with that ending?! OMG!?!) I’m a little tired of the Nolan buzz, to be completely honest, but I can understand where it’s all coming from. In terms of superhero movie quality, Nolan is right on top.
Just last week a new vintage boutique opened in downtown Phoenix. Vintage by Misty is the newest vintage-based business to open up and their store is already causing quite the buzz.
Every month, Dairy Queen introduces a special Blizzard of the Month. Caramel Waffle Cone, Brownie Batter, or Pumpkin Pie–you name it and I’ll be driving to DQ to try it. This month I was expecting to hear that the special Blizzard would be a Girl Scout Cookie flavor, like maybe Tagalong or Samoa, but instead Dairy Queen is serving up a Mint Oreo Blizzard (ironically similar to a Thin Mint). To satisfy my craving for a Girl Scout ice cream dessert and to make up for my disappointment I realized that I could make my own shake with my favorite cookies! Create your own Girl Scout Cookie Shake by incorporating your favorite cookie flavor into ice cream and serve with whipped cream. For tips on which cookies shake up best, check out this blog post from cakespy.com. Ingredients 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream ¼ cup of milk 6 or so crushed Girl Scout Cookies Directions Combine all ingredients in the blender.
As I strolled into the Rhythm Room at a little after 8 p.m., I was surprised to find that so many had already shown up for the Miniature Tigers/Pepper Rabbit show.
The other day, I was fumbling around on Etsy, just searching through all the cute handmade items and stores that this wonderful community has to offer.
As I was walking past the various booths outside of the Memorial Union, I was drawn to one booth in particular.
This month my mind is on “Microwave Madness” instead of March Madness as I continue to sample different microwavable frozen entrees. This week I tried Lean Cuisine’s Angel Hair Pomodoro, which is angel hair pasta in a chunky marinara sauce with Parmesan cheese.
My heart thudded painfully in my chest when I heard those dreaded few words. Those two words had destroyed my dreams for making this the first year I would attend the auspicious event known as the Coachella Music Festival. Sold out? My mind could barely comprehend that this infamous concert had sold out as quickly as it had—only a mere week after tickets went on sale.
Now, many of us cannot necessarily wear high-arched, platform high-heels all of the time, so that is why there is a new trend of shoes called the flatform?
So yeah, guess I’m turning this into Zack Snyder week, and why not? This week, "Sucker Punch" hits theatres, and I’m all over it.
Off of 7th Street in Phoenix is a quaint coffee shop that is dedicated to using local products, and having a nice space where people can mingle, sip coffee, and play Scrabble together. Urban Beans, located in midtown Phoenix, offers an array of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, along with locally made pastries and coffee drinks that are sure to settle anyone’s craving for caffeine. When I first went to Urban Beans back in January, the first thing I noticed was the size of the room, which is downright large compared to most coffee shops in the downtown area.
One blog I’m absolutely in love with right now is Not Ladylike by Lisa Kercher.
So Zack Snyder has been pegged to do the new Superman movie. Yes, after four Christopher Reeve movies, one Bryan Singer movie to supposedly fit in with that canon, and several solid cartoon movies, we’re starting all over again. To be honest, I don’t mind it. Here I go losing a nerd-credibility point, but I have never seen any of the Reeve Super-movies.
